14 deaths at Liverpool Prison in just two years, shocking figures reveal
 

Fourteen inmates have died at Liverpool Prison over the last two years, new figures have revealed.
Six of them were self-inflicted, Ministry of Justice statistics have confirmed, while the others are from sickness and natural causes.
Top Merseyside lawyers today slammed the pattern of reoccurring deaths at the Hornby Road facility, and said many were ‘carbon copies’ of other tragedies, happening just months earlier.
Edwin O’Donnell, known as Ned, died accidentally last October, which was contributed by neglect, a jury ruled, with a series of gross failings in his care.
