1,000 Shoreline residents hit by end of subsidised sheltered housing scheme



NEARLY 1,000 Shoreline residents will lose their subsidised sheltered housing service when it ends next month.
Following the impact of government cuts on service provision, Shoreline asked residents at its 30 schemes whether they were willing to pay a small charge for the sheltered housing service currently underwritten by all Shoreline tenants, the majority of which do not benefit from the service.
Of the scheme residents who responded, only 29 voted in favour of self-funding the service with a £2.10 weekly charge for its continued provision.
